Lucknow: The Lucknow Academy of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Lucknow Baradari, organized an interactive awareness session at Prathmik Vidyalaya Bhikampur to educate children about the crucial concept of Safe and Unsafe Touch. The session was specially designed for young students between the ages of 4 and 8, with nearly 70 children and their teachers in attendance.
Dr. Shalini Bhasin, President of the Lucknow Academy of Pediatrics (2025), addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of early education on child safety. Through engaging conversations, she explained how children can recognize unsafe touch and take simple, confident steps to protect themselves.
The session focused on three key learning outcomes:
- Identifying Unsafe Touch: Helping children understand the difference between safe and unsafe touch in a clear, age-appropriate manner.
- Reacting Confidently: Training children to say “NO” firmly and loudly, and to immediately report such incidents to a trusted adult.
- Practical Strategies: Encouraging students to trust their feelings, understand boundaries, and adopt practical safety measures.
Role-playing activities and practical examples made the session interactive, ensuring children not only listened but also actively participated. Teachers and members of the Inner Wheel Club praised the initiative for its simple yet impactful approach to empowering young minds with life-saving knowledge.

At the close of the program, stationery items, snacks, and small gifts were distributed among the children, bringing smiles and adding a cheerful note to the day.
This initiative underscored the pressing need for child safety awareness and highlighted the value of community collaboration in safeguarding children’s well-being. Organizers expressed hope that more such efforts will continue to build a safer, more informed future for the youngest members of society.
